This was THE book for fine tuning our trip to Idaho once we determined that we wanted to view the eclipse in Idaho. There are many tables of information beyond what I expected when I purchased the book.
I found it to be hard to use and much overrating what minerals were at sites, also not very helpful sometimes in locating sites. It is probably outdated with its information.

This book is loaded with terrific and easy to read information you will need to see and record a once in a lifetime experience. He provides you with who, what, when where and why you could possibly need. It includes locations and descriptions of Idaho with detailed information and history about a solar eclipse, where to best to observe and how to capture the event from the pro to the average amateur photographer. He has even provided details for the area from lodging to animals to the weather. The book sucked and was useless. Lansdau has two too many sticks of butter! I had zero problem with any of his predictions of gloom and doom.
