A m,ust for russel Wright collectors, an update!

Arrived in good condition...

We've been collecting RW since 1998, and have hundreds of hard to find and many one of a kind pieces.Pros:-Some new photos.-The most comprehensive author of Russel Wright, covering all designs from all eras, including furniture and plastic-Detailed price guides-History and chronology of lines based on extensive researchCons:-Due to wide scope of the book, it is fairly easy to find incorrect information on pieces, prices, and other data.-Truncated some interesting information from 2nd edition, including photos of very rare items that we collectNeutral:-Moved prices to back (for easier reference?).Bottom line: 2 stars for accuracy, 4 stars for breadth, 3 stars for depth. Thus the average rating. If you seriously collect RW and do not have either the 2nd or 3rd edition of this book, you should buy this as without doubt this is certainly better than other RW books (and we have several others), but again not necessarily a must have for those with the 2nd edition.

Mrs. Kerr was scrupulous in her research and all information with the possible exception of now outdated pricing is correct in every respect. There are no other books that cover Wright's designs and design career in such breadth and depth as those written by Mrs. Kerr. A dear and well respected friend of his remaining family prior to her death, Mrs. Kerr was privileged to be able to offer her readers unique insight into Mr. Wright's personal and professional life. Wright's place in American Industrial Design was cutting edge in his time and his work has found a following in new generations of collectors. Mrs. Kerr was instrumental in re-introducing Wright's work to the modern collecting world with her gift of keen scholarship and research as well as her great love and respect for this man and his inspired design aesthetic. She was and remains the preeminent authority on Russel Wright and her books belong in every serious collector's library.

I just started collecting Russel Wright dishes, and was looking for a definitive reference guide to help key out the pieces I had. I thought this book had a lot of helpful information about determining pattern and manfacturing locations, but I was a bit disappointed overall. Though the cover of the book features only pottery, the book itself has examples of all that Russel Wright created in his long, prolific career-- all the way down to the radios and lamps. It would be great for the diehard RW fan, but I wished it just focussed on the pottery.

Packed with information, this book is cumbersome to use since it doesn't have an index.

Everyone needs a book like this if they collect or haunt thrift stores. Very cool brand for even todays designs.

Fondue is one of winter's slightly guilty pleasures at my house. There's nothing better on a snowy Saturday night than a pile of French bread cubes and a pot of fondue in front of a roaring fire (gas logs in our case, but you get the picture).This book contains several new fondue ideas. There's a pizza fondue that sounds delicious, and there are several variations on basic cheese fondues.I'm rating the book four stars because it doesn't have a recipe that approaches the wonderful kirsch flavored classic fondue that should be everyone's introduction to the pleasures of melting cheese. Yes, I'm a fondue snob.

The book gives you simple recipes with layers of flavor that will create a good variety a depth. As a Classical French trained chef, I would recommend this to anybody that is looking for good recipes to do when you entertain, or just have left-over cheese in the fridge. Although, Fondue is very dated, it's a good way to get a little more creative than a bowl of queso dip for a dinner party. Rotel and Velveta don't exactly scream interactive dinner. I don't think I would ever do fondue in my restaurant, or go out for fondue; but it is a good way to feed multiple people for not a whole lot of money, and also get everybody involved in a social dinner/event. Some of the cheese fondues might be a great way to make mac & cheese.

I read it in less than 10 minutes and I liked it because I could choose my very first fondue recipe with the ingredients that I have on hand in my kitchen right now. :)All recipes look easy and I think I'll be able to do them soon. I think it's great for starters in fondue making like me.

Cheese fondue is something I love but something I'd never tried until I downloaded this book. After Top 10 Pizza Recipes answered all of my pizza questions, I anticipated this book would be just as helpful about cheese fondue. I'm very pleased to say I think I can make cheese fondue for damn near anyone now! Once again I am impressed with the Top 10 Recipes series!

I read this book over 20 years ago, and just bought it for my 21 and 19 year-old sons to read. Life changing. Provides tremendous insight into dysfunctional behaviors, co-dependency, etc. I wanted them to read it before they start any serious relationships.

I bought this for an employee who shared with me that they were suffering from extreme depression. I hope she reads it and that it helps.

Hallelujiah! Literally, a few pages after I complained in my review, the actual application/help comes! Yay! Updating to 4 stars!I will update this review as I go along. So far, I am about halfway through this book (page 98) and I still have no major breakthroughs, other than knowing that repressed anger is seen in the majority of depressions. The book mentions 8 personality types, yet only expands on two. The hysterical person and the ocd person. It would have been better if he used less pages on both and instead touched on every type. One thing that irritates me: page 89 states "on the other hand, in some cases when a battered wife comes seeking advice and consolation because her husband beats her up twice a week, we have to wonder if there is a possibility that she has a passive-aggressive personality and may be subconsciously provoking his explosive behavior. (Of course, this does not diminish the husbands responsibility.)"Excuse me? Yes, you are diminishing it. I can't even expand on this further because I think it's disgusting. I understand some women continually go back for the abuse, even when they could get out of the relationship just fine and I also know some women who do enjoy the sympathy they get from telling others, yet do nothing to fix the problem. Like a dog going back to lick up his vomit. However, nothing "okay so" affairs, or abuse. It drives me crazy how we think like that! Again, NOTHING warrants having an affair or abuse! Even if I'm passive aggressive, even if I refuse sex to my husband, if I am never home, am an awful wife, etc. there is no excuse for these things, IN my unprofessional opinion. Sin is sin. Let's call it what it is. One person sinning isn't a pass for me to go and sin because of it.On p.97, it states "Christ desires that we confess our sins, solve our problems, and thus lift our depression." I just want to scream: DUH! How can I solve my problems is the issue, help me with that! Help me with lifting the depression, don't just tell me i need to! I hope to God this dude finally gets to the point and the actual helping part soon. So far, I'm just reading further in hopes that I finally get some help. I'll update more as I continue to read!

I am now depression free after reading and applying the principles in this book.

Excellent information which is put into a usable format that aids the reader in finding the biblical basis for the information and then implementing it in their own life.

A very helpful book to help a person see that happiness is a choice. It has so much information that I couldn't stop reading the book. A friend recommended it to me and I'm so thankful she did.

It was not what I expected. My M.D recommended I purchase and read it. Too much clinical information. May be great for doctors and clinicians but not the actual patient. I was somewhat disappointed.

It changed my attitude for the better.

I bought a few copies of this book when it was first released. I gave both my husband and my step-daughter copies because they help me run our flea market business. I have read my copy of the book several times and often find myself browsing through the table of contents when I am brainstorming different marketing strategies to apply to my business. One of my favorite parts of the book is Part 15 titled "Spoiled Prospects and Customers Are Loyal". In that section, there are 7 short chapters that help me remember that my customers drive my business and that I need to reward my best customers.Every chapter of the book is short and to the point. Most chapters offer you an actionable marketing tip or a new way to view your business. The only down side to that is that you may find yourself reading more than one chapter at a time and trying to decide which tip or idea to take action on first.I consider this book to be my small business marketing toolbox. I can use the ideas ("tools") in this book to build and/or fix my business just like I would use the tools in my home toolbox to fix/repair things in my house. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who owns a small offline business and would like to learn how to creatively market and grow that business.

I have been an ardent 'apprentice' of Jim Cockrum for several years now, so I had already learned about 1/3 of the strategies mentioned in the book. Before I struck out on my own, I attempted implementing these strategies at my previous employers' companies, trying to grow their businesses. More often than not, I got FIRED because of it! Why? It's simple, and it falls right in line with the book's content. The 'old guard' in marketing is dead and 6-feet under. While 99% of marketing executives (like my previous employers) spend millions of dollars on lame-brain marketing tactics that sound sexy but just don't work (again, again and again), entrepreneurs like Jim and I (and thousands of others who have followed his advice) are building 6-digit revenue streams - real, wholesome businesses, mind you - using proven no- or low-cost tactics, and then 'rinsing and repeating', and reaping the rewards. Thank you Jim - the Eddie Van Halen of Marketing (innovative, fearless, and always emulated but never imitated).

Jim Cockrum is the real deal and this book is chock full of good tips and info. I'm only halfway through the book and already feel like I'm swimming in actionable stuff. You may not feel like you get the nitty gritty on how to implement all the ideas... but here's a tip: if you like one of the ideas in the book, just go to youtube and or google the idea, and you'll find plenty of people showing you the nitty gritty. This is the book to point you in the right direction.

jim cockrum is a marketing genius! I actually read this book once already BEFORE i bought it- i borrowed it from a good friend, and couldnt put it down, once I started reading it! It has SO many resources and ideas, that I couldnt take enough notes, there are just too many.i recommend reading it straight thru at first, and then come back to it as a note-taker. i give it all high marks, it is a true winner.If you are intending to launch a career online in any way, this is an ESSENTIAL tool to have, without a doubt.

I truly believe that Jim Cockrum is one of the few marketers that truly cares about his customers and students, but more importantly this guy knows his stuff and keeps up with trends. You simply can't go wrong with anything Jim puts out or endorses, and this book is no exception. Buy it, buy it, buy it! I cannot praise this book enough, and I look forward to future book releases from Jim. I have the Kindle version, but I am going to buy the actual book because I know I'm going to be re-reading and re-reading this for years to come and want a physical copy.
