Yeah, nah. If you're an enamalist or jeweler looking for a book with advice or direction, this isn't your book. It's a collection of enameled art, and although some of it is impressive (mostly in size, as you wonder where they even find a kiln big enough and consistent enough to fire these pieces), it's mostly a collection of pictures of "meh" enamel "art" and details about the artsit. Nothing in this book will enlighten you on the methods or techniques used to create true art. Just a collection of enameled art, and I've seen far better in Google searches.Two stars only because I guess some folks really want a book with pictures of enameled things. Me, I'd prefer a book with some technical specs.
I really like this book! I'm new to enameling and love to read and see everything I can regarding the subject. This book gives an overview of basic enameling techniques, but also in depth information of some well known enamelists. They share some of their techniques of their beautiful work. There is a gallery of artists and their work. Wonderful inspiration for the new enamelist as well as the more experienced. I hesitated a bit before I ordered this book because I had not looked at it ever. Well worth the decision to purchase!
This is an interesting book. The photographs are beautiful and it is interesting to read about people who are experts in the field of enameling.
This is the best book on jewelry enameling techniques, that I have and I have many. Great artists share their skills and techniques. Very educational, very many beautiful inspiring photographs.

I met Lilyan Bachrach at an Enameling Society conference about 3 years ago, and know that she is one of modern enameling's biggest supporters, as well as being a wonderful enamelist in her own right. I was delighted to add this new book to my personal library and to also put it into the reference library at the Columbus (Ohio) Cultural Arts Center where I teach enameling. One of the things I like best about this book is that it includes many different techniques and showcases the artists who do them. It is evident from my own experience that there is no "correct" way to work, and that is reflected here. This book is meant to encourage young enamelists just starting out, and to add new artistic life into more experienced ones, and it does an excellent job of both. Lilyan has years and years of experience and I appreciate how she has passed on her knowledge this way.
Wonderful. Numerous artists many of whom describe their process, sometimes in enough detail to be truly helpful.
Easily understood instructions, pictures, steps to complete, tools list for each technique and gallery pictures for inspiration. will keep coming back to this one
