Great book!

I just cracked open this book five minutes ago. I'm new to the world of SAP and the aggravation the book has spared me has been well worth the price.This should give you a hint that the book is well-organized and easily accessible. A little familiarity with SAP is handy, but I don't think it's necessary.

Over 10 years old. Most of the core information is the same. The responsibilities by chapter are different now.

In some places that the book is advertised it is misleading - touting the book as SAP for dummies when actually it is a book on SAP System Administration only. Although it may adequately cover the System Administration (Basis) aspects the book is not helpful for basic SAP functionality - I had more luck with "Teach Yourself SAP in 24 hours" for general SAP.

I have only just started reading about SAP. However, I was looking for more than just a review of GUI screens and the buttons on them. I was looking for explanations, perhaps a short overview. Many of the screen shots did not exactly match the words associated with them. They showed the 'default' SAP screen rather than the parameters and options discussed in the text. There were several mistakes on the screens. Buy another SAP BASIS or SAP Administration book other than this one. It is far overpriced in relation to its content. Others are available at half the price of this used book.

I didn't think it was possible to have a Dummies book for SAP, but it seems that Joey and Jim did it. As an experienced basis admin I read with skepticism, but I truly believe this is a valuable asset for any technical resource looking to venture into the vast world of SAP. Joey provides comical yet expert commentary that would allow anyone new to this difficult landscape to get a leg up. Thanks for the enjoyable and educational read. When are you coming out with SAP for Advanced Dummies?

When I was first thrust into the arena as a BASIS administrator, the dirth of materials showing how to do even the most basic of tasks, made this a daunting task. This book would have made my job much easier a year ago. For the beginning administrator or consultant, this book would be an excellent addition to ones SAP R/3 library (If only for the chuckles you would get for having it on the shelf)

Interesting, informative and well worth the price.

This is one of the best sources I have found to learn of other peoples' take on the Maui experience. I knew I loved the place for a lot of reasons, but why do other people? There is some history in this book, and it is given in a concise manner without becoming tiresome. There were a few items I had not found in the standard histories of the Hawaiian nation. Good to know. But best, to me, were the short visits with Mauians of all sorts - including a dog I would love to meet. This is a book you can read straight through, or dip into here and there as the spirit moves. It's great!

This book was very helpful to me as a new resident on the island. For one thing it is kind of a primer on the culture offering insights in short essays on the Hawaii of old and the major changes from arrival of missionaries to the plantation and later tourism transformed the island. The book also covers a topic that I have not seen in print; how Hawaiians feel about the loss of their kingdom and the near destruction of the culture. The author wrote stories about everyday people, some funny, to give me a better sense of the people I may be able to meet in my comings and goings. In a sense it is a kind of guide to living here.

Not your usual technical welding book. Shawn shares his knowledge and opinions gained from years of experience Tig welding, in effect saying - “I’ve found this works for me, give it a try”. He doesn’t say there is only one way to do something, just things he’s found successful over the years by trial and error. It’s a chatty sort of book, sprinkled with personal stories of his welding experiences. I think that even a welder who had studied at a technical college would get valuable things out of this book that weren’t taught in college.

Good quick read with many good suggestions for general tig welding. Would like to see some pictures or diagrams of tig torch and equipment when describing operation but written descriptions were adequate.

This book is just like "Everything you NEED to Know About TIG Welding", Do Not Buy Both books.

Very useful and practical. I highly recommend it. The author covers the details that are important to good results on common metals.

Meh at best, a few insightful tips, mostly basic beginner stuff.

Fleming does a superb job of pulling the reader into Earhart's story. The book is eminently readable and would make a good read-a-loud. Starting with Earhart's idyllic childhood and moving through the difficult years of Amelia's father's alcoholism, the author lets the reader see the forces that shaped the woman that Earhart became. Showing no judgements of Earhart, Fleming simply tells the facts as they are known and leaves the reader to make up his/her own mind about Amelia.Fleming does the seeming impossible by getting the reader so involved in the story that he/she somehow hopes the end of the story will be different than he/she knows it to be. The design of the book is sharp and easy to follow with photographs placed appropriately through out. Sidebars add interesting information about Earhart and the people around her. I highly recommend this book to those who love a good story and a fascinating piece of history.

Really nice book, just not as "adult" as I had expected. Lots of pics and info though.

I got this book for my 11 year old voracious-reader-son after he and I read “The Family Romanov” (by the same author). Both books are so incredibly engaging and bring history to life. Fabulous storyteller, writer, and historian. I wish she could magically produce 30 more books on other aspects of history.

I really like this book, it's very easy to read and understand and the variety of pictures is very informative. I am in the 8th grade and we had to choose a biography book about a person and this is definitely one I can truly say is easy to read. Definitely the best book on Amelia I've seen!

I received Amelia Lost last night and had a hard time putting it down before dinner. A brilliantly written, well-researched biography which debunks the myths while shedding new light on this legendary aviatrix using archival data. Fleming melds the story of Earhart's last flight into the pages of her life, taking the reader on two journeys which ultimately merge at the end. A great gift for any aviation enthusiast, male or female, young or just young at heart.
